Unexpected ways to be more mindful: Tried & true

Staying centered and sane is significant when it comes to how you treat others. Treating yourself well is a matter of self awareness and gauging your situation. I love doing reset routines where I can be by myself, find my footing, and even get to relax from the chaos of scheduling with clients and keeping up with the needs of loved ones.

As a matter of fact, resetting for the week is necessary or me to be mindful throughout the day, before people make their needs be known, and I find I’m overwhelmed without having taken care of myself. I can’t help you if I can’t help myself. I also can’t help you if you can’t help yourself. The first step is by getting your life organised.

Ask: Where are you?

Emotionally. Mentally. Physically.

If you’re not nailing the fundamentals as eating right for your body, getting enough restful sleep, and enough exercise, nothing else is going to work outside of that. It’s like when someone finds themself to be putting people off, but try to fix the exterior situation rather than doing the inner work of possibly being kinder, learning soft skills, and using wording that is more attractive to high quality people.

Start off with the integrative, natural things you do everyday and see if it has a high ROI. If you’re putting tons of working into doing your makeup, rather than eating right, sleeping enough, and exercising well, your skin is not going to get any better.

I like to have an emotional control check with my cat.

Why? Cats feed off social reward and training them requires a lot of love and compassion, but with the discipline of not letting your negative emotions take over you. This is interesting because I was watching a documentary on cat psychology and how they react to humans. They react negatively if they feel you have a negative mood.

You will not win in life if you have a negative mood. Negative mindsets hold you back. It lowers your self esteem and it’s a neverending cycle of Pygmalion making your worst nightmares come true.

When you have emotional control you have power over one of the few things in life you can control.

Taking care of every aspect of your health is not the end-all-be-all of mindfulness. A deep scrub-down needs to be done with your soical hygiene. This counts for how you treat other people, because the world is a mirror. Smile and the world will smile back.
