Pretty Privilege Discussion: Does Being Attractive Make You Successful?

Hi Femme Founders!

I’ve been wanting to talk about this for so long. And didn’t know there was a term for it. There is now, even though it’s existed. People putting a label on it makes things interesting.

Disclaimer: I am pro choice when it comes to doing whatever you want to your looks. It’s yours, who am I to say what you should do with it! Even if you don’t want to do anything.

Subscribe now to level up in all things beauty, self image, and self growth inside & out!

I don’t believe in commenting on a person’s looks unless it’s something they can change within 10 seconds. Like smudged makeup, offering a tissue for a booger, or if their nip is out. Or even a flyaway hair that’s out of control.

You can tell immediately if someone is self conscious about something, so be warm and focus the attention on other lovely things.

This is an open discussion btw, so feel free to comment your perspective below and I will respond with an open mind as much as possible, but still have my own point of view! Hopefully you can see that too.

I wanted to remind you that you’re incredibly beautiful! You don’t hear that enough. It’s not just that, but you’re also perfectly capable of anything as long as you put the work in or find the right connections. This is a safe space.

TRIGGER WARNING

If you don’t think you’ll like this video or watch it til the end, you’re more than welcome to not watch it. I’m not forcing you. 🙂

In this video we discuss:

  • What it means to be attractive according to the world standard and science
  • How beauty standards are changing everywhere
  • How being attractive affects our day to day
  • Some studies and experiments explicating generally attractive traits

Now for the privilege part.

Privilege implies there is some sort of success implied from a factor conducive to said success.

Why are good looking people so successful?

  • It’s not as simple as one might think.
  • The chicken and the egg theory applies.
  • The odds and statistics of attractive people reproducing successful offspring
  • What equates attractiveness outside of physical good looks

I’ll be posting a whole series on pretty privilege and self image and am excited to share this news with you! Let me know in the comments below if there is any input you have or queries about certain topics pertaining to the aforementioned.
