Happy Boxing Day!
This was originally the day when the sovereign would give out boxes of leftovers from the Christmas feast to the people. Who doesn’t love delicious, hearty leftovers?
Our pipes are frozen and the heat isn’t so bad. I naturally take a shower at about 110 degrees Fahrenheit. However, my husband cannot. He did a military shower in the sink this morning before heading off to the hospital. We have the taps on to keep the water going.
We knew there was going to be a sudden plummet in the temperature in our area as Mr. Dixon’s coworkers warned him, so we kept the laundry room open to warm up the pipes and not turn off the heat. It did not work, but it is okay, because I still woke up this morning with a palatable liking to the water’s heat. The landlord will come for a visit some time today to check on things.

In addition to our pipes freezing, we have to fill up the toilet cistern each time we use it. For some reason I thought it was going to be a bigger deal than I thought it would. The Tesla’s door was frozen shut on top of everything so it made Husband late a few minutes, but we got a pot, filled it up with hot water and melted it down.

Outside is covered in all white. I was told we were only going to experience one inch of snow, but this is more than that haha. This is so exciting! I have not been out in the snow yet, able to play or walk around to discover more. Though I hope it does not melt before I have time to explore.
Lexington is truly a beautiful place and I look forward to all the seasonal changes, surprises, and unpredictable weather. It really thrills me even though I am aware some people do not like this challenge. For me, it makes for a reason to go shopping for cute coats!

The change of season also called for something interesting in my business. One business – real estate – is booming in the summer, so I can focus on that. While the other – blogging – is best in summer, so I can prioritise each with full attention. This is a wonderful turn of events and I am already planning my 2023 content!

Since the heater has been running all week, even after turning it down a few degrees, it still feels stuffy. I am having a bit of a hard time sleeping because of how dry it is. However, it forces me to step outside and ingest some fresh air. I am a fan of this place. We’re not in Los Angeles anymore, Toto.
Are you enjoying the holiday season’s weather? What is something you like to do to make the season extra comfy and enjoyable? I always love hearing from my lovely readers in the comments below.
