3 Things To Do When Your Day Is Cancelled

Today I had so many things planned that got cancelled or moved to this day of the week. As in all my meetings for today collapsed and all the other events I planned to do earlier are now going to be done today.

I get to catch up with my work. But also catch up with myself.

There’s nothing like gaining on your own energy to rebuild who you were from the past few days and refreshing yourself for the next upcoming.

Aside from getting all the tasks cleared up and emails sorted, I made a handy list of things to do to get organized and create some space for self care when times like this open up.

Clean your workspace and / or parts of your home with the most traffic.

This can include your vanity, parts of your bathroom, kitchen or entryway. It’s really easy for things to go awry and disorganized when it starts with one small thing that snowballs into plenty of items lying around to create a mess!

A clear space means a clear mind and clean slate to start off your latest routine.

Make a coffee or tea and really enjoy it.

I make coffee every single morning and have fika (Swedish break time for coffee & a pastry) as often as I can. Amounting to 3 coffees a day, but my body loves it. I know people are against this, but it’s completely individual. 🙂

In my past observations, I’ve noticed how some people I know who eat really fast still have a tendency to sit and enjoy their coffee. They have their priorities straight!

You can enjoy your tea / coffee while working and multi tasking, but take each sip with mindfulness. Sit with that sip for the few seconds and then get your brain to fully wrap around whatever it is you’re doubling down tasks with in that moment. It doesn’t have to be a full setting aside of 15 minutes everyday to sit with a coffee in your mug.

It doesn’t have to be a warm drink. It could be a smoothie or a fresh squeezed juice to get your day started too! Or even a glass of delicious water.

Still remember to “get up”.

Just because you don’t have to go out today or have Zoom meetings to show up to doesn’t mean you don’t have to change out of your pajamas!

When you dress different you act different. It also increases productivity and ability to show up on social media to market your business and/or influence!

Growing up, I used to go to church and we would wear our best clothes all day simply because my dad said, “You act differently.” So we’d keep our clothes on all day, be even more careful with spilling anything onto our more expensive and elegant outfits, and paid better attention to the way we presented our comportment.

It’s so simple, but it makes a huge difference.

Also, it doesn’t feel right to sit in your unbrushed hair and teeth all day and not actually feel clean when you have a fresh set of garments on.
