At first, I felt a bit silly in this outfit, because it felt so bright and obviously feminine. It looked a bit like I was trying too much, as if it wasn’t entirely effortless. This outfit truly was zero energy involved, because I grabbed my creased trousers and these layered cashmere and wool sweaters messily in a pile on an unpacked box.
HOWEVER. It did help when walking nearby people’s homes, because I did not look threatening as if I wanted to steal something from the beautiful neighbourhood we sauntered through. Mr. Dixon was in an all-black North Face jacket being practical in his corduroys. But I noticed people looked up to smile at me when I nodded ‘Hello’. A purely innocent exchange shows a little conduct and friendliness, which goes a long way in a bigger, careless city.

The flats with socks combination is something I do in the winter, because I simply have one pair of leather loafers, and they are dark. I should probably take my time to take a second look at those Sam Edelman Loraine Loafers in white I had my eye on for the past several months. It would help when stepping through puddles.

Nevertheless, here are in beautiful fresh air, surrounded by hidden Colonial and Classical homes. Nature, architecture, history, my wonderful company, and fabulous natural fibers. The crisp air is lovely this time of year and you cannot get in the smoggy hills of Los Angeles. This walk was not only fresh and fashionable, but an inspired success in every sense!
