I cracked the code when it came to designing luxury emails.
There is no other way I could iterate that without sounding proud, but it’s true! 🙂 I’m so happy about it and proud of it. I’m even going to show you some examples. But you need to know that Canva tops itself every time because I learn something new when using it. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
For those of you who don’t know what Canva is, you’re in for a treat!
It’s a graphic designer’s dream website. I don’t consider myself one, but have the taste for it. It’s always so much fun creating anything and branding projects are a challenge I love to accept.
On the site itself it has a brand kit you can set up with your custom logo–that you can also create to use a logo–fonts, color schemes, saved templates, multiple folders to keep your ideas organized, sharing projects with others, and even badass tutorials. The tutorials are always simple and short, explaining how far you can go using their tools.
I’m a sucker for cool hacks and tricks to stand out making people wonder how I did what. That’s what Canva is all about. Expanding your creativity. Even if you use one of their standard templates with their designs, you can tailor them with your custom colors, branded fonts, images, and create worksheets with your logo and style. Personalization is your friend when creating a business and giving that elevated client experience goes a long way when you use Canva tools to create signature branding.
Some digitally branded graphics you can generate with Canva are:
- Podcast covers
- Youtube thumbnails
- Business presentations
- Work portfolios
- Worksheet PDFs
- Anything graphic design for your website
- Email headings
- Facebook covers & all kinds of site banners
- Social media graphics
- Website pages
The list goes on as long as you can think of something that needs to be created online. Moreover, I’m always trying to level up my business with as many branded options to make the client feel like I thought of everything lol.
In addition, you can print photo books to commemorate moments with loved ones and even create merch. Printing is available for branded items such as clothes, mugs, and all sorts of tangible products. It makes expanding your business with physical merchandise easier.
You can use Canva 100% free but won’t have access to all the cool extras that come with a Pro account, such as incredible videos to make moving graphics, presentations, and social media content with motion. I personally use it to get access to even more incredible artwork that specializes in certain niches. There are definitely some really cool intentionally designed works in there that my content always needs. To top it off, you have unlimited downloads for PDFs, videos, and all kind of formatted presentations to keep your work at conveniently accessible outside the site itself.
To get Canva Pro click here. It’s only $12.96 a month or $119.40 a year and both plans include sharing files with a team of 5 people. That’s peanuts considering you can write it off in your taxes as a business expense. You’ll be using it a lot too to elevate your business branding. It’s so worth it and take your enterprise up a notch.
How I use it to design my marketing emails
For my marketing emails, there are two sizes of templates I utilize. One is of the Instagram post dimensions that I think are 1080 x 1080 in a square. Those are for the “advertising” parts of my email. My email is typically broken off into sections. At times, I will use them to create loud statements of something meant to be read right away.
And then when I’m trying to convey a deeper message redirecting readers to one of my blog posts, I tailor the Presentation size templates. I don’t remember off the top of my head their precise dimensions. But they’re perfect for creating portfolios, creating quick websites to show off information, and adding photos and words into my emails. They’re wider and have more space.
As you can see, I have a really structured way of doing my email marketing haha. But dividing different designs into multiple sections help me break down the emails to better reach my customer without them realizing. There’s a whole color psychology code story behind that haha.
Canva makes my life a thousand times easier with this and its so easy to navigate. It’s basically like using Microsoft Paint but way cooler and actually easier to use haha. Not even kidding. Paint was very difficult to maneuver.
